Respirator for PPE

Respirators protect workers in two basic ways.

The first is to remove contaminants from the air.

This type of respirator includes a particulate respirator that filters out particles in the air;

And “gas masks” filter out chemicals and gases.

Other respirators are protected by providing clean, breathable air from other sources. Respirators belonging to such respirators include air respirators using compressed air from remote sources; and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), including their own air supply.

NIOSH releases respirator use recommendations.

Industrial Type Approvals Comply with NIOSH Federal Respiratory Regulations 42 CFR Part 84. Respirator standards are developed in conjunction with various government and industry partners.
